   Coronavirus (Covid-19) Test and protect:

We are now moving to the next phase in the transition out of lockdown. Anyone over the age of 5
with coronavirus symptoms, however mild, should arrange to be tested, as soon as they develop symptoms.

Book a test:
this can be done online at: coronavirus-test

Testing will be done at a drive-through centre or using a home-testing kit.

If you test positive you will need to think about who you have been in close contact with and these people must

   self-isolate for 14 days.

Our new ways of working
In order to try and contain the spread of Covid-19 we have adapted our processes. It is important that we protect
our most vulnerable patients and our healthcare staff. We will provide a telephone appointment with the GP or nurse
to discuss your problem. An online Near Me consultation (like Facetime) using your smartphone is also possible.
When making a new appointment the receptionist will ask the reason for your appointment. Please assist us by
providing a brief explanation. Prescriptions can be requested online - see below.
At this time it is important that to avoid attending the surgery unless it is essential and agreed beforehand.

Know who to turn to when you are ill

It is important to use the right service at the right time. Most of the time, care
from your community pharmacy, general practice team or looking after yourself
is most appropriate. Hospital or Accident and Emergency services are for people
in need of emergency care. Click below to access the NHS Forth Valley site information.
See our Self help section for links to manage chronic pain, mental health or other problems.

Wasted medicines

It’s important that you don’t run out of essential medicines and you should check which items are needed,
especially before holiday periods and long weekends. However, medicines which you receive regularly
on repeat prescription from your GP should not be hoarded and you should only order items you require…
Unused medicines cost the health service in Forth Valley £5 million each year. This is the equivalent of 800 hip
replacements or 600 heart by-pass operations, so please order only the medicines that you require. Your unused
medicines cannot be recycled or used by anyone else, but for safe disposal they should be returned to your phamacy.

Remember: THINK before you order -- CHECK what medicines you still have --ORDER only what you need.
